A different kind of event photography
cXpress Photography is a premier event photography business in
the Southwest. We strive not only to get the picture but to
capture the fun, the intensity, the pride and the story behind
the picture.
I started my professional photography career 30 years ago with
the Air Force in southern California. I was assigned to take
“safety” pictures at the Orange County Int’l Raceway in L.A., so
there I was right next to the big dragsters of Don Garlits and
Don “Snake” Purdhomme! That started my love for cars and
dragstrips and the challenge of getting all the action on film –
and cameras were a lot slower back then.
After discharge, I shot high school reunions exclusively for a
local photography studio in California.
I also have been trained in art, working mainly in the color
pencil medium and have been commissioned to do personal drawings
on a variety of subjects. But with my extensive studies and
graduation from The New York Institute of Photography and
certification with Photoshop, I now focus on the world of
digital photography.
In order to continue my education in sports photography, I
attended the Digital Sports Photography Workshop held at the
Olympic Sports Center in Colorado Springs, CO. This was
sponsored by Nikkon. Photographers from Sports Illustrated,
Getty Images (formerly Allsport) plus top freelancers shooting
for Life, Newsweek, USA Today instructed and critiqued us. This
has strengthen my techniques for all kinds of sports so that my
customers can get the best professional results.
